Meet Our Donors

Claire Baldwin and Peter Lindley

Claire Baldwin chose to dedicate her life to taking care of others. She was inspired at a young age by the famous words of John F. Kennedy in 1961: “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” In her long career in nursing and as Vice President for Patient Services at Bryn Mawr Hospital, Claire has lived these words in an impassioned, meaningful way.

Now retired and living in Florida, Claire and her husband, Peter Lindley, still feel very close to Bryn Mawr Hospital, despite the physical distance. While Claire and Peter have donated to many charities over the years, they recently began targeting their giving more strategically. Their deep ties to Bryn Mawr Hospital prompted them to make this revered institution a philanthropic priority. Ultimately, they decided to include a provision for the Hospital in their will, on top of continuing their annual giving.

As Claire notes, “Bryn Mawr Hospital is a gem, a community treasure. It’s a non-profit hospital focused on providing quality care to patients and their families.” She continues, “I just can’t say enough wonderful things about what Bryn Mawr Hospital has accomplished and sustained.” Peter adds: “I’m motivated to help the Hospital because I know that my contribution will be used wisely and help countless patients and families to come.” In fact, Claire and Peter are so confident in the care provided at Bryn Mawr Hospital that they would travel here if serious medical needs arose, despite the long distance.

To Claire and Peter, Bryn Mawr Hospital represents more than just a physical place – although the fact that the hospital just underwent a substantial renovation is thrilling, especially to Claire, who worked on the beginnings of the Patient Pavilion building project several years ago. But, it’s the people that they’ve known and respected for years who are still here caring for patients that makes their connection so personal and their giving to Bryn Mawr so meaningful.

Peter and Claire are delighted to provide for the future of Bryn Mawr Hospital. They are passionate about the idea of furthering the mission of this “gem” that is so important to them, both professionally and personally, and they are pleased to know that making a gift through their will helps ensure that Bryn Mawr Hospital will be here for generations to come.
